College of Mines and Earth Sciences- Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter

We are a student chapter of the international Society of Economic Geologists, a growing association of more than 3500 professionals in 70 countries. Our mission is to promote interest and understanding of natural resources among the student community at the College of Mines, The University of Utah and the community at large. We do this by inviting guest speakers and organizing local and internatinal field trips to mines. We welcome students with an interest in ore deposits and mineral collecting. You don't have to major in Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Mining Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering to join our activities. We participate with the local Chapter of SME and invite all students of economic geology in Utah to join us.
